Acoustic/Melancholic/Folk

Leafblade are an acoustic band formed in Liverpool, UK in 2003. The lineup consists of Sean Jude, who is the main songwriter in the group, and was originally from the band Valle Crucis, and Danny Cavanagh, who is more well known for being a member in the band Anathema. Pete Gilchrist, who made his debut with this band in 2003, left the band in 2009. Leafblade also had input from Kevin Murphy, the bass player from Valle Crucis, and also Mick Reed, who was the drummer for Ship of Fools.

Неделя польского прогрессива: день 3-ий. Своеобразный арт-рок с элементами нео-классики. Дебютная запись польской группы с готичным названием "Ankh". Поют, кстати, на родном языке - поэтому звучит уж очень интересно (особенно для нас, русских).

Начнём неделю польской прогрессивной музыки. Svann недавно перезалили, поэтому продолжим путешествие: отличная инструментальная группа Animations в старом добром стиле Liquid Tension Experiment с кучным влиянием фьюжена, пауера и польской попсы. Хороший дебютный альбом.

Avantgarde Cello Metal

Coppelius is a band from Berlin, Germany, playing a unique form of “chamber metal” with classical instruments (clarinette, cello, double bass), vocals and drums. Their repertoire consists of self-written songs and covers (Motorhead etc). Whilst still an inside-tip, the band has gained in popularity after having opened for Subway to Sally last year.

Fragile and emotional neu-classical music would maybe be the best term to describe Olafur Arnalds’ music. Combining classical instrumentation with an ambient aesthetic there are obvious comparisons to fellow Icelanders Sigur Ros and composer Hilmar Orn Hilmarsson, but Arnalds is sculpting his own epic, string-laden compositions.
Only 21 years of age, Olafur hails from the suburban Icelandic town, Mosfellsb?r, just a few kilometres outside Reykjavik. He has immersed himself completely in the world of delicate symphonic compositions in a near weightless orchestral undertaking
