Finland’s finest, freaky instrumental rock quintet The Mutants are back with their brand new third studio album “Grave Groove” on Ranch Records. Recorded by Pentti Dassum and mixed by Jürgen Hendlmeier, the album takes a more rocking, guitar-based approach which is a heavy yet groovy mixture of all good things from past and present. Some people may call it garage rock with mambo and surf influences from the era of blaxploitation movies and beyond, but we simply encourage the dear listener to make their own judgement!
On “Grave Groove” the band continues with the second episode of their mobster trilogy “Meadow Hill” with guest vocals from Nadi Hammouda. The Mutants recorded the album tracks live in studio with minimal overdubs. You can hear from their tight and groovy playing that their musicianship is major league stuff and songwriting is also reaching some new heights with excellent tracks like current live favourite “Outerspace Odyssey” with some hippie groove and golden Haight-Ashbury era backing vocals.
Last years gigs all around the world, from Helsinki to Germany and Argentina, proved that no matter where the guys play, it’s going to be a beer soaked fest from start to finish. "Grincore heroes goes acoustic!" гласит обложка и действительно, то что сыграно на этом альбоме я бы отнес к акустическому хардкору. Это просто потрясающий релиз, и, кажется, единственный в своем роде. Не знаю почему я его не выложил много-много времени тому назад (возможно из-за плохого качества), так или иначе теперь этот промах исправлен, а лучше поздно чем никогда Все те кто не знаком - слушать, слушать много и часто =)

Modulator is Trey Gunn with uber-drummer Marco Minnemann; but with a gigantic twist. This entire recording was composed and produced over the top of a 51 minute, live drum solo by Marco.
For this project, alternatively known as "Normalizer Two", Marco has enlisted several different musicians to create a full cd, each, from the same drum solo. No editing of the drum performance was done. All the music had to fit with what Marco played and, ideally, make it seems like only this drum performance could go with this music.
"This was the hardest recording I have ever taken on," says Gunn. "The challenges of this process prove the old adage that 'with great restrictions come great creative leaps'."
